Introducing The Physician, Edgbaston. A new pub with grub.



A few months ago I put out a post on my blog about The Physician on the Calthorpe Estate within Edgbaston Village. It is now open for business.

The building was once known as the BMI building and used to house the vast ‘Sampson Gangee Library for the History of Medicine’. But its heritage goes further back and is steeped in history. It is believed it was commissioned in 1863 when the Calthorpe Estate expanded to accommodate a huge population growth from the turn of the 19th century. 

 The building oozes historical grandeur; it’s high ceilings and large sash windows create beautiful rooms of all shapes and sizes which lend themselves perfectly to becoming a beautiful pub.

 

There is now a huge reclaimed wooden bar at the heart of the building, housing 8 local cask ales, with plenty of room for a 50 strong wine list and array of spirits. 

The bar overlooks a large wooden floored room, perfect to house the hustle and bustle of drinkers in front of the open fire. Just right for Winter.

It’s Off this area that you will find smaller rooms to squirrel away in if you choose to have more intimacy or you can opt for the light and airy garden room that we have created overlooking the flag stone walled terrace garden to the rear of the pub. There are also 2 rooms that can be used for private dining, both comfortably seating 16.

Lisa Rogers is at the helm as the General Manager, hailing originally from Southampton, she has worked within pubs since the tender age of 18, spending over 20 something years behind the bar and the last 12 of those in London as a pub manager. She jumped at the chance to run the Physician as it will enable her to live out 3 of her loves, great wine, good food and a love of history, as well as bringing her to her boyfriend Noel’s hometown to be closer to friends and family.

‘’The locals seem to be delighted with the transformation, everybody is bowled over by how much the building has changed. We have received so many positive comments and are loving getting to know our neighbouring residents and business people, some of whom we have seen almost every day since we opened.

The loveliest moment so far has been our first day when I opened the door at 5 o’clock to find a queue of people waiting to get in. And once inside everyone was keen to get a full tour around the building, something we are still doing often.

We’ve seen a good number of dog walkers, taking advantage of our fire side seats in the bar and are inundated with business lunches which just shows what a thriving place Edgbaston Village is’’.

Brunning and Price prides itself on building local relationships with suppliers, it’s up to the local management team to decide the line up on the bar and much of this is driven by customer suggestion. ‘’The most popular beer so far for us has been Silhill Purestar which comes from around 10 miles down the road in Solihull.

The menu has a fairly good split across all the dishes as people experiment to find their favourites.’’

For Vegetarians the menu includes:

Spiced butternut squash and sage soup, deep fried Cornish Brie with pickled cranberries and candied pecan salad, 

Hereford hop, leek and balsamic onion Quiche with new potato salad, Crisp tarragon, polenta salad with roasted peppers, aubergine, and smoked paprika ailoli.

Cauliflower and Sweet Potato biryani with lentil curry sauce and red onion bhaji and Pumpkin, spinach and Worcester blue cheese pie with roasted buttered kale and port gravy.

There’s also a menu for Sunday roasts, but no mention of a veggie option. 

“Customers seem to enjoy seeing our vast selection of over 50 gins and 80 something whiskies, so once we have settled in a little we will begin to pull together a calendar of tasting sessions where customers can come along to meet the brewer or distiller. First of all though, we will concentrate on welcoming as many people as we can through the door to celebrate Christmas with us’’.

Looks an excellent addition to Birmingham’s and Edgbaston’s informal dining scene. With the added bonus of been in a stunning and grand building.

Hopefully the food quality matches the decor.

Welcoming The Physician, a new venue for Edgbaston. 


The growth in restaurants and bars in the Edgbaston village area in recent years is one of the significant success stories of the new found Foodie confidence in Birmingham. From the pioneering Simpsons to El Boracho del Oro, The High field, Blue Piano, the new Comida @ 21 Edgbaston and Cocktail bar The Edgbaston are providing Birmingham with places to eat and drink for the smart diner. Now another new restaurant is due to open soon, welcome to The Physician. 

Brunning and Price restaurant group are currently breathing new life into what was once the Birmingham Medical Institute building on the Calthorpe Estate within Edgbaston Village on the corner of Harbourne and Highfield Road.

The building was taken over in 1957 by the BMI. It once housed the extensive library before it moved to more modern facilities and when the chance came to take on such a wonderfully characterful property, it was an opportunity not to be missed by Brunning and Price.  

Lisa Rogers has recently been appointed as its General Manager and is keen to open the doors in order to get to know everyone and become a full and active member of the local community.

Lisa is new to the area, hailing originally from Southampton, she has worked within pubs since the tender age of 18, spending over 20 something years behind the bar and the last 12 of those in London as a pub manager. Lisa is joined at the Physician by Rachael Perry and Andy Harris, both will become Deputy Managers and compliment the team with Rachael’s love of wine and Andy’s love of real ale and a shared wealth of local knowledge being born and bred in the area. Our new head chef Ashley Kilroy joins us from Stourbridge and will head the kitchen team whose job it is to create daily menus which will have a core of modern British cooking and where possible use great local suppliers.

Now that the management team is in place they are busily looking for enthusiastic, personable people to make up the rest of the 40 strong team.

The pub will have 2 private dining rooms seating around16 people in each. The bar is at the heart of the building with a mixture of rooms that incorporate lots of nooks and crannies to hide in or views out to the newly formed courtyard garden through the new Orangery.

Dogs will be welcomed in the bar area and we are busy mapping suitable circular walks from and to the pub so that customers can take in the many sites in this extremely historical part of town before they settle back with us to dine or quench their thirsts.

They plan to open in early November. We will update the website and Facebook with any notable dates and plans as they are finalised so we encourage anyone who is interested to follow our progress there.

Love Gin? Get to Gin Fields at The High Field Edgbaston, Saturday 13th August. 


 

Could gin be the drink of connoisseurs? On the rocks, with a slosh of tonic or as part of a perfect martini, gin is the ideal Sunner drink. That clear liquor, the backbone of these irreplaceable drinks and others in between. 

Well, 

The High Field in Edgbaston is staging a fabulous festival for the grown-ups that’s all about celebrating the great drink that is gin.

So if you do love a refreshing gin cocktail or classic gin and tonic and want  to learn a bit more about this great English tipple in the glorious surroundings of a gorgeous city gastropub garden? Then get to The High Field in Edgbaston on Saturday 13th August for Gin Fields.

 Gin Fields is a fabulous festival for the grown-ups that’s all about celebrating the great drink that is gin. The entire afternoon and evening will be dedicated to it, and there’ll be oodles of ways to try Mother’s Ruin as well as discovering things you never knew about gin.

 Sidle up to the big outside bar and take a peak at the fantastic selection of premium gins on offer. There’ll be favourites from the High Field’s list like Brockmans, Hendrick’s and Whitley Neill as well as a few special guest appearances from some rare and unusual gins. Look out for Salcombe Gin, a smooth and delicious gin handcrafted in Devon using 13 different botanicals, the finest English wheat spirit and pure Dartmoor water and Brilliant Gin, a delicately flavoured artisan small batch spirit, alongside William Chase GB and Big Boss Gin.

Expert gin makers from some of these top distillers will also be on hand to share their love of gin and chat to you about its heritage, character and flavour, and then it will be down to the serious business of tasting. 

Sip on a refreshing gin and elderflower slush puppy or a fruity gin bramble or shake things up with a sensational gin and pink grapefruit. Cool down with a Jude’s G&T ice cream and lollies from Birmingham newcomers Creamed Pops. There will also be the ultimate G&T as well as cocktails galore. Listen to sounds from the DJ who will be spinning the decks all afternoon and pick something tasty from the BBQ to go with your gin.

 “We’ve all got a soft spot for gin here at The High Field and our grand gins always slip down a treat,” says The High Field’s general manager, Sarah Robinson. “But this time we’re making it really special by turning our whole garden into a celebration of the drink. Whether you fancy a drink that’s long or short, refreshing or sweet, gin is just great and we look forward to mixing you the perfect one at Gin Fields,” she says.

Tickets for Gin Fields at The High Field cost £10 and are only available on the door on the day, Saturday 13th August, from 2pm. Entry fee includes a G&T on arrival, gin tasters and a keepsake Grand Gin glass for mixing the perfect gin at home. Gin Fields ends at 6pm and will be held indoors in the event of rain.

Dip into delicious Asparagus at The High Field, Edgbaston, Birmingham.


  

 
  

Asparagus has been my favourite Spring Time indulgence for many years. It heralds the change for me from winter to Spring, through to early Summer. 

With the British asparagus season now in full swing, there’s a delicious and different way to enjoy the pick of this year’s crop at a great local right here in Birmingham. 

From now until the end of the season in late June, The High Field in Edgbaston, Birmingham will be serving Dip Your Own Asparagus – pots of hollandaise sauce, grated free-range egg and Parmesan (which can be omitted or ignored for vegetarians who don’t eat it) for dipping the spears, a new twist on a classic flavour combination. 
 “We are always out there on a never ending quest to find the best of British produce and this is one of my favourites yet,” says Ian Meek, head chef of The High Field. “Asparagus is one of our top spring ingredients and we wanted to make sure we served the best British asparagus we could find, and serve it with a twist.

 “So we headed for Barfoots Farm in Botley on the South Sussex Coast where they use a combination of traditional farming and advanced cropping techniques to produce the best asparagus we’ve ever tasted. 

 “Like us, they believe in doing things properly and don’t take shortcuts which means their produce is of the highest quality. It’s the reason they won British Vegetable Grower of the Year and Most Environmentally Friendly Farm in Hampshire,” he says.

 Barfoots Farm sits in a unique microclimate between the South Downs and the Isle of Wight, where the long, high light levels and warm soils make for perfect asparagus growing conditions. Each tender spear is picked by hand and rushed to the pub where the chefs are serving them as Dip Your Own Asparagus as well as on the pub’s specials boards for as long as the season lasts.

#Veggiebreakfastwatch: Birmingham Breakfast Club at Simpsons Restaurant. 


   

Ruth and I have been to Michelin Starred Simpsons Restaurant in Edgbaston, Birmingham a number of times since we met in 2007. 

We’ve been to celebrate Christmas, Valentine’s and at various other celebratory occasions and always found the food to be excellent and the venue a true place to celebrate. 

So to be invited with Ruth to the second exclusive and ticketed  Birmingham Breakfast Club (http://www.birminghambreakfastclub.co.uk/Michelin Starred three course breakfast was both thrilling and a lovely opportunity to try out the food of new head chef Nathan Eades formally of Epi Restaurant in Bromsgrove and whose vegetarian food so wowed me last year when I visited Epi. 

Simpsons has recently had a refurbishment with all of the restaurant area been revamped into a more minimalist airy space, which has a Scandinavian feel about it. Gone were the table cloths of before and the simple tables and clever use of space and light reminded me of Simon Rogan’s flagship restaurant in the Lake District L’Enclume. (My favourite meal ever).

Been shown the main single spaced empty dining room space was a thrill, and left me impressed by the use of space, the atmosphere and use of natural light from the beautiful garden space outside (with an alfresco decking dining space)  

It’s fresh modern style equated itself well for breakfast.

Simon Steggles (@Stegabyte) chief Birmingham Breakfast Club reviewer of breakfasts across the city did the honours and had also arranged for myself and fellow diners to see inside the kitchen at the end of the breakfast.

We began with a crunchy sourdough (sorry no photo) of excellent quality with a soft butter that melted in the mouth (though would have liked another slice).

A mixture of fresh Apple and freshly squeezed orange juice were also offered. The orange juice again of superb quality and very welcome. 

The three courses were presented beautifully and had all the hallmarks of Nathan’s delicate intricacy and presentation of more unusual and seasonal veggie ingredients. 

  

1) Celeriac: Celeriac and Potato Hash, lingonberries, celery.

A delicate and adventurous start. The hash lifted by the clear flavours of celeriac. The lingonberries (an edible fruit with a slightly acidic taste) a nice addition and offered a lovely red glow on top of the golden hash.

For me the standout dish. The dish that demonstrated chef Nathan’s cooking ethos perfectly. Simple ingredients presented well. An adventurous veggie option. 
  

  Salsify and Eggs: Maple roasted salsify, fried duck egg. French toast, maple mascarpone. 

Again a beautiful take on ‘bacon and eggs’ which was the non veggie version. A lovely runny Duck Egg, perfectly fried and set off by the beautifully named salsify (love that word, but a fantastic root vegetable) like pencils holding the egg up high the salsify, maple sweet and silky Offered new possibilities to a standard dish. Presented with the lush rich mascarpone, which I loved. Delicious.

3) Cereal: Cornflake Pannacotta, milk foam. 

The ‘pudding’ of breakfast at Simpsons. Cornflakes to finish a meal, whatever next? Panna cotta infused with the cereal. Perfectly creamy, refreshingly indulgent even and a lovely way to end a superb breakfast. 

  

The Michelin Starred breakfast at Simpsons was a lovely experience, nice company (we all sat on one long table) delucious and exceptionally prepared food by Nathan Eades (who I later found out dis all the cooking himself without any assistance) was a fun way to spend a morning. It whetted the appetite to return for dinner with Ruth next year for another celebratory meal. It also proved that under the head chefship of Nathan Simpsons will be a standout restaurant for Vegetarians to visit in Birmingham. Thanks chef!

#TastyMorsel: Nathan Eades announced as Head Chef of Michelin Starred Simpsons Restaurant. 


  
Exciting news reached me yesterday through the Twitter world that Nathan Eades, former chef owner of Epi at The Courtyard in Bromsgrove has taken over from Matt Cheal to become head chef at Simpsons. 

Ruth and I have been to Simpsons numerous times since we met. The place is fantastic, a beautiful building, sophisticated, iconic in Birmingham and a special place to visit for that celebratory occasion. It just has a way of making you feel special and indeed cossatted. 

On the last two times I’ve bisited though I’ve felt a little underwhelmed by the Vegetarian dishes. Though not bad in any way, I felt other like for like restaurants in the Michelin world and indeed in Birmingham did things better. More adventurous, more care, more emphasis on the ingredients.

Having tried Nathan’s food at Epi in Bromsgrove and raving about it on my blog, I’m excited to see what veggie concoctions he can come up with in his new kitchen. It should be interesting and I’m sure an improvement. See my review here:

Nathan’s appointment comes at a time of major change for the restaurant which is currently undergoing the latter stages of a refurbishment. 
Nathan will be in the kitchen ready for the reopening on Wednesday 16 September. 

Nathan began his culinary year as a catering student at Worcester College and spent two years working as an apprentice at Nailcote Hall in Warwickshire. In the past 11 years he has worked at Lainstone House in Winchester, Swinfen Hall Hotel and spent a year in Vancouver working at the Wedgwood Hotel and Spa. Prior to setting up his own restaurant Nathan spent more than a year working as senior sous chef at Fishmore Hall Hotel in Ludlow, the only restaurant in the area to hold three AA rosettes at the time.

Dip into Summer with the best British Strawberries at The Highfield Birmingham. 


   
   
One of my loveliest childhood memories is the one of going strawberry picking with my family, and enjoying the sweetest taste of freshly picked produce (sometimes eating too many) and the thrill of then (much later) eating my Grandmas strawberry jam, with some of the abundant produce. 

I’ve always loved strawberries in Summer and along with the Asparagus season it’s my favourite foodie time. 

If there is any dish that includes British strawberries on the menu in a restaurant i’m always tempted by it. 

So I was pleased to hear that The Highfield in Edgbaston has introduced a new desert for Summer, well up to the end of July. 

According to them: 

 ‘To celebrate the start of summer the chefs at The High Field in Edgbaston have been on the hunt for the perfect British strawberry – deliciously sweet and full of flavour, blushingly red and juicy, with a perfect heart shape. And so that everyone can make the most of this superb summer produce, they have come up with a special way of serving it – Dip Your Own Strawberries.

 Their quest for the best British berry took them deep into the heart of rural Staffordshire to Lower Ruele Farm, where they met grower Charles Kidson and asked him what makes the best strawberry. Here they discovered that it’s all down to the variety, and how the plants are nurtured, that produces the pick of the crop.

 “Walking into the poly tunnels we were met with a blaze of colour from the pops of red dotted along as far as the eye could see,” says The High Field head chef Dean Jeffers. “We were just as struck by the way the strawberries are grown along rows of narrow table tops where the tender young fruits can gently ripen in the warm air before being picked from their delicate green stalks. Harvesting is done over several days, when each berry is deemed to be perfectly ripe, sweet and ready to eat.

 “Unable to resist popping one of the beautiful berries into our mouths, we discovered that it is nature, as well as nurture, that plays a part in growing the finest fruit. Only Driscoll’s Amesti strawberries are grown here, a modern breed chosen because of the intensity of flavour, colour and shape of the strawberries it yields. Runners are produced in Holland from the high quality plant tips and lovingly tended here on the farm in ideal strawberry growing conditions. The result is simply the perfect strawberry,” he says.

 After picking the perfect strawberries, the chefs went one better to bring the best of British summer to the pub, creating an irresistible dessert of Dip Your Own Strawberries. 

 Into one big pot goes a generous helping of large, juicy red strawberries; into another, a glug of gorgeous, velvety Valrhona chocolate sauce and one final pot a dollop of sweet Chantilly cream. The whole lot goes onto a board ready for you to dip yourself, with a pile of crumbly shortbread biscuits that are the perfect partner to the luscious fruit and dips.

 “The best British strawberries we could find, rich chocolate sauce and unctuous cream with the crunch of biscuits on the side are the perfect ingredients for the perfect dish,” says Dean. “It’s the best of British all in one place, and the best summer dish. It’s simply delicious. But as with all good things, it won’t be around for long so catch it while you can!”

#Veggiefoodietakeaway: Deliveroo: Delivers into Birmingham. Dining to your door. 


Deliveroo is the new delivery service that has recently arrived in Birmingham. 

Deliveroo enables  you order food online from a restaurant (ones that wouldn’t normally deliver), Deliveroo drivers then go and pick it up and deliver it to your door, or desk, or wherever! 

The website (deliveroo.co.uk) enables hungry users to select dishes from their favourite restaurant, pay for them online and have them dropped at their door for a £2.50 charge  by one of the site’s drivers. Whether it’s a work lunch at the office or an evening meal at home, the site aims to deliver the food in just 32 minutes. 

The service, which currently covers Birmingham City Centre, Edgbaston and Moseley/ Kings Heath with plans to quickly expand to other areas in the region, has joined forces with some of the city’s finest restaurants to deliver your favourite dine-in dishes to your table. 44 (frequently added to) venues, many of which are independents, have signed up to the scheme including vegetarian The Warehouse cafe, Deepalis and Veg Out Cafe in Kings Heath. 

Jacob Lourie, regional manager at Deliveroo, has big plans for Birmingham’s take-away scene. He said: “Birmingham has such a vibrant culinary scene and is full of fantastic eateries and restaurants which, until now, you’d have to have visited to experience. So if it’s for a corporate lunch entertaining clients, a dinner party you don’t want to cook for, or just a meal in front of the TV, Deliveroo brings that food to you. 
“We’re helping to grow the takeaway offering in Birmingham, so we’re not limited to just two or three types of cuisine. We’re also launching in new zones in and around the city so more people can get online and have good food delivered directly to them.”

The delivery concept is a unique one and offers vegetarians numerous excellent dining choices in Birmingham. With many independent restaurants on the list. More are added frequently so keep an eye on Twitter and their website for details and give it a go. 

The days of takeaway pizza at your desk seem to be long gone. Just quality freshly made restaurant quality cuisine.

#Veggiesundayroast: The Highfield, Edgbaston, Birmingham.


    

The Highfield resides in a striking 1920’s Art Deco property. It’s classic white villa sits poshly in leafy Edgbaston looking inviting, cool and content in its new venture. 

The Highfield is now a gastro pub and restaurant rolled into one. With a lovely garden and two terraces it makes for a space to lounge in and take in those rays. This was the second time I’d visited, the time before pre Christmas for their Christmas menu (see here http://t.co/PM0y53KO5l ) and  I’ve always fancied Sunday Lunch there. It can be the best meal of the week, yes even for veggies. 

On a Sunday they serve a Sunday roast alongside a full alternative menu, dependent on your appetites. It’s good value at £11.50 for the vegetarian variety. The meat options slightly more. 

Sitting opposite Simpsons Restaurant and The Edgbaston bar and boutique hotel, The Highfield White and bright from the outside offers much the same inside. It has an inviting luxurious charm on entering. The bar area is often buzzing, though on a Sunday lunchtime was quieter and yes bar tables were free. 

  
I was visiting with Ruth, my parents and my uncle, on my recommendation, so the pressure was on 😊

We began in the bar with the compulsory (in my world) local  Langley’s No’ 8 Gin. This time with tonic, no junipers or cocktails today. Though recommended.

  
The lovely up front flavour of the gin, classic, perfectly balanced, with a robust flavour and smooth. A lovely gin, made not far away from The Highfield. A good start. 

So into the restaurant. The decor is contemporary, chic in a good way, with comfortable sofas and a light spacious feel about it. It’s a glorious eating space, so much natural light especially on a sunny day. Roll on Summer. 

   
 

I ordered for my starter the healthy sounding and vegan warm superfood salad of salt baked beetroot, lentils, and baby spinach, beetroot and thyme dressing. First of all its a feast for the eyes, bright and colourful. It was lovely, more filling than I initially thought, with contrasting beetroot favours and warning lentils against a crisp lettuce. It felt wholesome, interesting and easy on the eye. 

Ruth and my parents chose the vegetarian soup of the day. Warming tomato flavours with good croutons. It went down well. 

  
The veggie Sunday roast option was a Veggie nut roast Wellington, with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, celeriac and parsnip purée, Yorkshire pudding and veggie gravy. 

   

   
We also ordered a side of Cauliflower cheese

   

 

The nut roast Wellington was excellent. It had a good combination of mixed nuts, was moist and not over cooked in any way. It was a large portion and with the vegetables and yorkshire proved to be a filling roast. I liked the flavours, it felt home made and it showed an understanding of how a veggie roast can work when done well. 

We all felt that it would have been better had the vegetables been not so green (mangetout, and Broccoli) and had a contrasting colour in the bowl, maybe carrots or squash. But they were cooked well all the same. 

The Cauliflower cheese was lovely, a good cheesy flavour and cooked well. It Made for a contrasting colour on the plate. 

The roasties were very good, a proper job as were the Yorkshire puddings. 

   
 

For desert I did order the sticky toffee pudding, but it was probably the worst I ever had. Dry, overlooked, zero sauce. Inediable. The Highfield did kindly deduct the price from the bill after I explained. 

The Highfield’s veggie roast was very enjoyable.

The service was good throughout, friendly and mostly attentive, it didn’t feel rushed. The dining room is a lovely light space for daytime eating, with a garden view. This is certainly a plus when deciding upon a Sunday roast venue. For vegetarians it’s a good place to eat. The veggie roast is well made, filling and delicious. 

The Highfirld is an elegant and restrained dining venue but without any pretension. 

The Sunday roast is good value and with the quality seasonal ingredients used is ‘full of the good stuff’. 

Food is served all day from 8am-11pm.

#Tastymorsels: Veggie Foodie news: Epi Restaurant, The Edgbaston and En Place @ Six Eight Kafe. 


Bromsgrove based restaurant Epi last week announced that sadly Sunday 26th April will be its last service in Bromsgrove. Nathan and Charlie who run Epi are currently looking at various sights in Birmingham and hope to make an announcement soon on a new begining for the business.

  

Epi Restaurant served me one of the best vegetarian meals I had last year and left a lasting impression on the thoughtfulness of the menu and the fresh  taste of the seasonal ingredients that Nathan created, so for me it’s an empathy of both sadness of their closure and happiness at their impending move to my home (and theirs) city which should give me many more opportunities to enjoy fine innovative vegetable dishes. The Edgbaston in Edgbaston Birmingham has recently launched a Vegetarian tasting menu to go alongside its main tasting menu. Served against a backdrop of the 1920’s chef Ryan Swift has devised a vegetarian menu that showcases seasonal ingredients and harnesses innovative techniques. More ‘social’ dining than fine dining, expect timeless elegance on a plate and innovative indulgence in the dishes. 

Ryan Swift who formally was at Hampton Manor in Solihull is now running the kitchen and receiving favourable reviews thus far. 

The veggie menu will soon be able to be taken with paired cocktails (the specialism of The Edgbaston)

The Edgbaston opened in May last year and now it has introduced a food menu appears to be integrating itself well with nearby Simpsons and The Highfield. It has 6 boutique rooms that makes for a nice foodie break with the added cocktails which I think are the best in Birmingham. 

The Vegetarian tasting menu will be four or six courses for £40 and £65. Served Tuesday to Saturday 

The dishes will be a combination of modern presented with a twist. The pairing concept to me seems a brilliant idea and should be a huge success when launched for vegetarians.

Also served is an A La Carte menu from Tuesday to Friday. 

The Edgbaston have also launched an Afternoon Tea menu (see photos below) 

   

 This is served from 2-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Which includes their very own Moseley Serve for £30.

En Place is a new pop up restaurant from chefs Michael Crew, Josh Porter and Chris Dance. 

On the 14-15th May they will be at Six Eight Kafe, Millenium Point from 18.30-22.30.

They have over 30 years experience in kitchens and this exciting new pop up experience should introduce thei food to a brand new audience.

Along side a meat menu will be a bespoke vegetarian menu using seasonal and local produce to create elegant but affordable food with s modern twist. Their will be a set tasting menu plus with BYOW should make for a good value evening. Priced £35 for 5 courses.
